  • Anthony Brown
    Anthony Brown

    Anthony was delighted to take up the position of Chair of the Trustees in 2015, having been a Trustee since 2004. He is a partner at law firm Clyde & Co specialising in the resolution of disputes moving back to the North East in 2001 after 10 years working in London.

  • Ann Wynn
    Ann Wynn

    Ann is Vice Chair of Northern Learning Trust and  has supported its work of the since 2008. She has many years’ experience of working in the private, public and voluntary sectors and currently enjoys a portfolio career encompassing being the Director of The MEA Trust, an independent Funeral Celebrant and a Leadership and Performance Coach.

  • Barrie Cooper
    Barrie Cooper

    A Trustee since  2013, Barrie worked for 20 years as a Chaplain in the Prison Service, initially with Young Offenders and later with adults serving both short and long sentences.  His initial ministry was on a large estate on the edge of Manchester; with all the associated problems (and opportunities!)

  • Kath Gallagher
    Kath Gallagher

    Kath Gallagher has worked in the Work Based learning sector since 1988, carrying out various roles progressing to Operations Director of a national Training provider.

    In 2004 she created Newcastle UXL, a partnership organisation of training providers in Newcastle Upon Tyne, which she successfully ran until her retirement in 2014.  In retirement she is the North Tyneside representative (volunteer) for Macmillan Cancer support

  • Victor Ottaway
    Victor Ottaway

    Victor has worked across the North East region in the public, private and voluntary sectors and has a background in the management and delivery of funding and contracts, especially those supporting unemployed people to address their barriers to the labour market.

  • Mike Ranson
    Mike Ranson

    Mike is Treasurer of Northern Learning Trust and a Chartered Accountant, having worked in a number of spheres after training in London with one of the big professional firms with which he moved to Newcastle in the 1970s.  His experience includes being Finance Director at Tyne Tees Television in the 1990s, Finance Director of Newcastle University before the millennium and finance professional in the Civil Service from 2001 until retirement.

    In 2010 he was President of the Northern Society of Chartered Accountants and was appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 1984, being particularly privileged to have been elected as Chairman of the Newcastle & Tynedale Bench for three years to the end of 2014.
