Meet our Board members

  • Anthony Brown
    Anthony Brown

    Anthony was delighted to take up the position of Chair of the Trustees in 2015, having been a Trustee since 2004. He is a partner at law firm Clyde & Co specialising in the resolution of disputes moving back to the North East in 2001 after 10 years working in London.


  • Ann Wynn
    Ann Wynn

    Ann is Vice Chair of Northern Learning Trust and  has supported its work since 2008. She has many years’ experience of working in the private, public and voluntary sectors and currently enjoys a portfolio career encompassing being an independent Funeral Celebrant and a Leadership and Performance Coach.

  • Mike Ranson
    Mike Ranson

    Mike is Treasurer of Northern Learning Trust and a Chartered Accountant, having worked in a number of spheres after training in London with one of the big professional firms with which he moved to Newcastle in the 1970s.  His experience includes being Finance Director at Tyne Tees Television in the 1990s, Finance Director of Newcastle University before the millennium and finance professional in the Civil Service from 2001 until retirement.

    In 2010 he was President of the Northern Society of Chartered Accountants and was appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 1984, being particularly privileged to have been elected as Chairman of the Newcastle & Tynedale Bench for three years to the end of 2014.

  • Natalie Maidment
    Natalie Maidment

    Natalie has volunteered and worked in the voluntary sector for over 20 years. She has a real passion for supporting those facing multiple disadvantage. 

    She has in-depth knowledge of the needs of the sector having worked for local, regional and national infrastructure organisations. and can build strong relationships across sectors, using her skills and knowledge to advocate for voluntary sector involvement in policy and practice.

    Having supported Northern Learning Trust for many years through her work at Vonne and Clinks, Natalie joined our Board in 2022.

  • Roy Alexander
    Roy Alexander

    Roy has over 25 years of experience in education, both as a classroom science teacher, and as a board member of third sector educational institutions. He is currently studying for a Masters degree, exploring Inequality in Education and the long term negative impact this has on disadvantaged and marginalised adults and children. 

    Roy has a particular interest in promoting Equality and Diversity, levelling the academic playing field and ensuring that education is accessible to all, particularly those who are disadvantaged socially and economically. He joined our board in 2020.

  • Anne Delandre
    Anne Delandre

    Anne joined Northern Learning Trust in late 2019.  She left the local government sector in 2013 after more than thirty five years service, mainly working in the housing and homelessness services, and took up a position of Parish Clerk, before retiring in 2020.

    She is also a school governor and the independent representative at both believe housing’s Customer Values Group and Durham County Council’s Pension Fund Committee.
